Christopher J. Porter

...in Laos I work as a bioinformaticist in the Ontario Genomics Innovation Centre at the Ottawa Health Research Institute.

I have been working at the OHRI since 2003, primarily with the Stem Cell Genomics Project. More recently, I'm spending my time working on projects for the International Regulome Consortium (IRC).

Recent work has included

  • Analysis of Solexa sequence map locations and association with gene and repeatmasker data.
  • Writing scripts to design primers for transcription factor gene recombineering.
  • Design of databases and data sharing plans for IRC projects.
  • Analysis of microarray and SAGE data for various projects.

Prior to moving to Ottawa and the OHRI, I worked at the Genome Database at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
